Explanation of the endorsement
Endorsement 1237:
Explanation of the endorsement
Endorsement 1237:
- Cotton boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
Notes:
- The product type listed on the RFP should match the product description on the first page of the import permit. The product name in the title of the attachment of import conditions (generally the second page of the import permit) can be disregarded. Some import permits for ginned cotton may be supplied with an attachment of import requirements titled as "Additional conditions of raw cotton" - if so, Endorsement 1237 should be used.
- The listed Endorsement is only required when the import permit specifically states this requirement.
Pakistan confirmed that consignments of ginned cotton found to be free of live insects during phytosanitary inspection do not require mandatory treatment, regardless of the text stated on the import permit. For such consignment a phytosanitary certificate without treatment may be issued.
