This Micor case is for seeds imported into Australia which have remained sealed, and for which the phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin is still available, and which is being exported under an EX25 re-export phytosanitary certificate. For seeds that do not meet this criteria, refer to the Citrullus lanatus seed to New Zealand Micor case.
Explanation of the endorsement
Endorsement 7950:
- Applies to seed not of Australian origin where testing for Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV), Kyuri green mottle mosaic virus (KGMMV) and Melon necrotic spot virus (MNSV) is conducted in Australia.
- For seed lots with 10,000 or more seeds, a representative sample of a minimum of 2000 seeds, officially drawn according to ISTA or AOSA methodology is required from each seed lot and tested as specified in the endorsement.
- For seed lots with less than 10,000 seeds, a composite sample of a minimum of 2000 seeds must be officially drawn across all seed lots of the same seed species in a consignment, which must have been produced at the same place of production or production site.
- If the original phytosanitary certificate meets New Zealand's requirements for CGMMV, KGMMV and MNSV, an EX25 with nil endorsement (apart from endorsement code 6536) is to be issued.
The phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin, or a certified copy of the phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin, must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection. The Authorised Officer must ensure the phytosanitary certificate meets all requirements indicated on New Zealand's Seeds for Sowing IHS (155.02.05) policy, unless endorsement 7950 is used, in which case the testing certificate and phytosanitary certificate combined must meet all requirements indicated in 155.02.05.
