An import permit and health certificate are required.

Health certificate

I, Dr ………………………………, a duly authorised government veterinary officer, hereby certify that:

1. 2. ANIMAL HEALTH DECLARATION 
   1. 2.1. Australia is free from African swine fever, classical swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease, Aujeszky’s disease, transmissible gastroenteritis and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus.
2. 3. SEMEN COLLECTION AND PROCESSING CENTRE 
   1. 3.1. The semen is derived from animal(s) in a semen collection centre approved by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department).
   2. 3.2. The semen collection centre is regularly audited by the department at intervals of no more than 12 months.
   3. 3.3. The semen collection centre is under the supervision of the centre veterinarian of the approved semen collection centre.
   4. If the semen donor(s) were transferred from another semen collection centre:
      1. The donor(s) was examined by the semen collection centre veterinarian.
      2. The donor(s) showed no sign(s) of infectious disease(s) on the day of the transfer and the transfer was direct.
      3. The donor(s) did not come into contact with animals of lower health status.
      4. The means of transport were disinfected before transport.
3. 4. DONOR BOARS 
   1. 4.1. Donor boars were born in and raised in Australia.
   2. 4.2. Donor boars were held in pre-entry isolation for a minimum of 28 days prior to entering the semen collection centre.
   3. 4.3. During pre-entry isolation, the donor boar(s) were not used for natural mating and were not in contact with any animals of lesser health status.
   4. 4.4. Donor boars were examined regularly by the semen collection centre registered veterinarian and there was no evidence of clinical sign(s) of infectious disease(s) throughout their residence in the semen collection centre including on the day/s of semen collection.
4. 5. TESTING 
   1. 5.1. All testing was performed in a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited laboratory.
   2. 5.2. All diagnostic tests were approved for use in pigs in Australia.
   3. 5.3. Brucella suis:
      1. 5.3.1. Donor boars were isolated for a period of 30 days prior to entering pre-entry isolation facility
         1. The donor boar(s) tested negative for Brucella suis, by a Complement Fixation Test (CFT) or Indirect ELISA (I-ELISA), during the isolation period OR
      2. 5.3.2. The donor boars were sourced from herds with valid accreditation under the state government’s Brucella suis accredited herd scheme.
5. 6. SEMEN COLLECTION, PROCESSING AND STORAGE 
   1. 6.1. Semen was collected, processed and stored in accordance with relevant requirements outlined in Chapter 4.6 of the current WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code.
   2. 6.2. The cryogenic or cooling agent used in the freezing process, storage and transport was not used previously with any other products of animal origin.
   3. 6.3. The semen straws/vials have been stored in containers which were sealed under the supervisions of an authorised officer of the Australian Government using tamper-evident seals and clearly and permanently marked to identify the donor and the date(s) of collection.
   4. 6.4. The semen straws/vials were only stored with other semen of equivalent health status.
   5. 6.5. The semen straws/vials were not stored in a country other than Australia.

6. 7. TRANSPORT

   1. 7.1. The transport container in which the semen is to be transported to Solomon Islands is new or disinfected* and is free of contamination.
