It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements. Additional information to assist exporters with how to prepare reproductive material for export is available on the Department's website.

An import permit is required and can be obtained from Peru's National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA).

Health certificate

I, Dr ………………………………, a duly authorised government veterinary officer, hereby certify that:

1. Australia is officially free from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) without vaccination, contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP), rinderpest, lumpy skin disease, Rift valley fever, bovine brucellosis (B. abortus) and bovine tuberculosis / Australia es oficialmente libre de Fiebre aftosa sin vacunación, Pleuroneumonía Contagiosa Bovina, Peste bovina, Dermatosis Nodular Contagiosa, Fiebre del Valle del Rift, Brucelosis bovina (B. abortus) y tuberculosis bovina.
   
   

2. The embryos have been collected from donor cows that are in an approved Embryo Collection Centre and supervised by the Competent Official Authority of Australia, and endorsed by SENASA-Peru / Los embriones se han recogido de vacas donadoras que se encuentran en un centro de recolección de embriones autorizado y supervisado por la Autoridad Oficial Competente de Australia, avalado SENASA-Perú.
   
   

3. The Embryo Collection Centre and at least a radius of 10 km surrounding it, is not located in an area under quarantine or animal movement restriction for cattle during sixty (60) days prior to the collection of embryos / El Centro de Recolección de Embriones y al menos en un radio de 10 km a su alrededor, no está ubicado en una zona bajo cuarentena o restricción de la movilización de bovinos durante sesenta (60) días previos a la recogida de embriones.
   
   

4. The embryo was collected, processed and stored by the Embryo Collection Team in accordance with the current OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code and the recommendations of the International Embryo Transfer Society [IETS] / El embrión fue tomado, manipulado y almacenado por el equipo del Centro de recolección de embriones de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el Código Sanitario de los Animales Terrestres de la OIE vigente y las recomendaciones de la Sociedad Internacional de Transferencia de Embriones.
   
   

5. The embryos (cross out the option that does not apply) / Los embriones (táchese la opción que no corresponda):

Were produced with semen that comes from an AIC approved to export semen and complies with the minimum requirements for the control of diseases caused by artificial insemination or their equivalent, as per the OIE Code / Fueron fecundados con semen que procede de un CIA autorizado para exportar semen y cumplen con los requerimientos mínimos para el control de enfermedades producidas por inseminación artificial o sus equivalentes, según lo establecido por el Código de la OIE;

2. They were produced with semen imported legally into Australia from (specify country:_________________ ) which has not reported cases of Schmallenberg disease / Fueron fecundados con semen importado legalmente a Australia, procedente de (Indicar el país) el cual no ha presentado casos del virus de Schmallenberg.
   
   

6. The donor cows / Las vacas donadoras:
   
   

1. Were born in Australia / Nacieron en Australia;

2. Have lived in Australia for more than six (06) months before the collection of embryos / Han vivido en Australia por más de seis (06) meses anteriores a la toma de embriones.
   
   

7. The donor cows have remained at least thirty (30) days in the property of origin or in the embryo collection centre / Las vacas donadoras han permanecido al menos treinta (30) días en el establecimiento original o centro de recolección de embriones.
   
   

8. The donor cows did not show any sign of infectious disease, during the collection and during 60 days prior to the collection / Las vacas donadoras durante la recolección y durante 60 días previos a la recolección no presentaron ningún signo de enfermedad infectocontagiosa.
   
   

9. The semen used for the insemination of the donor females and the production of embryos, must fulfil the animal health requirements for the importation of semen to Peru / El semen utilizado para la inseminación de las hembras donantes y la producción de embriones, debe cumplir con las exigencias sanitarias de Perú, para la importación de semen.
   
   

10. The embryos were washed and subjected to a treatment with trypsin in accordance with the current IETS manual and the OIE Code / Los embriones fueron lavados y sometidos a un tratamiento con tripsina de acuerdo con el manual de la IETS y el Código de OIE.
    
    

11. The container for the transport of the embryos is new or was cleaned and disinfected (choose an option and delete the other) with an authorised product and sealed under the supervision of the Embryo Collection Team veterinarian before its transport to the place of shipment / El contenedor para el transporte de los embriones es nuevo  o fue  limpiado  (escoja una opción y borre la otra) y desinfectado  con un producto autorizado y sellado bajo supervisión del veterinario del Equipo de Colecta de Embriones antes de su transporte al lugar de embarque.
    
    

12. The shipment of embryos was sealed by an official veterinarian at the time of export / El embarque de embriones fue sellado por un Veterinario Oficial en el punto de salida del país.

In addition to the health certificate, a declaration from the approved Embryo Team Veterinarian (ETV) must be provided with a completed Notice of Intention form for assessment of this export.
