Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 5361:
A crop inspection report, or for endorsement 5362 a laboratory analysis certificate must be presented in order to endorse freedom.
Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Lesser grain borer (Rhisopertha dominicia).
Note:
- Helminthosporium maydis race T is an older name of Cochliobolus heterostrophus.
Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate fungicide (e.g captan) and fumigant (e.g phostoxin) at recommended manufacturer's requirements.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 5361)
1) Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii), Philippine downy mildew (Sclerospora philippinensis), Sugarcane downy mildew (Sclerospora saccheri), Downy mildew of millet (Sclerospora graminicola), Downy mildew of maize (Peronosclerospora spontanea) and Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found to be free of Downy mildew of wheat (Sclerophthora macrospora) and Cochliobolus heterostrophus,
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free from Lesser grain borer (Rhizopertha dominicia).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5362)
1) Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii), Philippine downy mildew (Sclerospora philippinensis), Sugarcane downy mildew (Sclerospora saccheri), Downy mildew of millet (Sclerospora graminicola), Downy mildew of maize (Peronosclerospora spontanea) and Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Downy mildew of wheat (Sclerophthora macrospora) and Cochliobolus heterostrophus,
