Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of the endorsement:
  • Endorsement only required if stated on the import permit.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), Cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus maculatus) and Oriental cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus chinensis).
The consignment must be treated with an appropriate fumigant at approved label rates.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
