Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Helminthosporium sativum is a synonym of Bipolaris sorokiniana.

Explanation of Endorsements:

Endorsement 768
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Ergots (Claviceps spp).
Endorsement 8055
  • A crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from Common root rot (Helminthosporium sativum).
Endorsement 8056
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Common root rot (Helminthosporium sativum).
Consignment must be treated with any appropriate fumigant, or fungicide or insecticide, at approved label rates, as required by the import permit.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

If no treatment is required by the import permit, no treatment details are to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.

1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Ergots (Claviceps spp).

1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Common root rot (Helminthosporium sativum).
Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 8056)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Common root rot (Helminthosporium sativum).
