Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Refer to the import permit to determine the appropriate additional declaration.

The seed is to be sourced from an approved seed supplier as listed on the import permit.

The seed is to be commercially packed in clean new packages.

Each type of seed must be clearly identified as to its botanical name.
Consignments unable to be certified as per Endorsement 2039, are to be treated with:

  • Carboxin at 8g a.i. per 10 kg seed and thiram at 10g a.i. per 10 kg seed;

OR

  • Carboxin at 8g a.i. per 10 kg seed and captan at 7g a.i. per 10 kg seed;

OR

  • Imazalil at 0.8g a.i. per 10 kg seed and triaimenol at 2.2g a.i. per 10 kg seed;

OR

  • Imazalil at 0.8g a.i. per 10 kg seed and flitriafoll at 0.8g a.i. per 10 kg seed.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Details of treatment are to be certified in the treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate (Endorsement 744 or 760) applies.

When applying Endorsement 2039, no treatment is required.
Option 1 EXDOC Endorsement 2039)
1) Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis), Leaf freckle (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp nebraskensis), Sorghum downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi), Maize chlorotic mottle virus, Maize dwarf mosaic virus and Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii) and not known to occur in Australia,
2) Corn smut (Ustilago maydis) is known not to occur in the state of production, and the seed was cleaned, graded and packed in premises where seed from Corn smut (Ustilago maydis) affected areas has not been handled.

Option 2 EXDOC Endorsement 744)
1) Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis), Leaf freckle (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp nebraskensis), Sorghum downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi), Maize chlorotic mottle virus, Maize dwarf mosaic virus and Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii) and not known to occur in Australia,
2) Seed was treated for Corn smut (Ustilago maydis) was cleaned, graded and packed in premises where seed from Corn smut (Ustilago maydis) affected areas has not been handled.

Option 3 EXDOC Endorsement 760)
1) Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis), Leaf freckle (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp nebraskensis), Sorghum downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi), Maize chlorotic mottle virus, Maize dwarf mosaic virus and Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii) and not known to occur in Australia.
