Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

The seeds must be commercially packed and labelled.

Consignment must be treated with methyl bromide at:

  • 48 g/m3 for 3 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or higher;

OR

  • 56 g/m3 for 3 hours at 15 - 20.9 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • 64 g/m3 for 3 hours at 10 - 14.9 degrees Celsius.
Consignment must be fumigated within 21 days of the time of departure.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
