Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Requirements for cold treatment (onshore or in-transit):

Fruit may be treated with cold disinfestation treatment, either on-shore or in-transit, to treat for fruit flies from the family Tephritidae.

The following rates may be used:

At or below 0 degrees Celsius for no less than 13 days

At or below 1 degrees Celsius (plus or minus 0.6 degrees Celsius) for no less than 16 days

Onshore cold disinfestation treatment

If the consignment is subjected to onshore cold disinfestation treatment, treatment temperature and period (number of consecutive dates) must be provided in the treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate.

Onshore cold treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:

Requirements for insecticide treatment:

Consignments must be dipped in, or flood sprayed, with dimethoate at 400 ppm active ingredient for 1 minute.

The treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:

INSECTICIDE:

IN 400 PPM DIMETHOATE OF TOLERANCE +/-6 PERCENT (+/-24 PPM) FOR ONE MINUTE OR MORE

Requirements for methyl bromide fumigation treatment:

Fumigated in Australia with methyl bromide for two (2) hours at atmospheric pressure at the rate of:

10-15 degrees Celsius at a concentration of 48g/m3

16-20 degrees Celsius at a concentration of 40g/m3

21-26 degrees Celsius at a concentration of 32g/m3

26-32 degrees Celsius at a concentration of 24g/m3

The treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:

FUMIGATION:

WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT XXGRM/M3 AT XX-XX DEGREES CELSIUS FOR 2 HOURS

Requirements for vapour heat treatment (VHT):

Fruit treated with vapour heat treatment with the core temperature of fruit held at 47 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

The treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:

VAPOUR HEAT:

FOR 15 MINUTES AT 47 DEGREES CELSIUS

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1891)

1) The fruit has been subjected to cold disinfestation treatment prior to shipping,

2) The fruit has been packed in pest proof containers

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1898)
1) This fruit has been grown and packed in an area not less than 80km from an area where any harmful species of fruit fly (family Tephritidae) exists,
2) The fruit has been packed in pest proof containers.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 5328)
1) This produce has been dipped in or flood sprayed with dimethoate,
2) The fruit has been packed in pest proof containers.

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 8246)

1) The core temperature of the fruit has been held continuously at 0 degrees Celsius or below for not less than 13 days commencing prior to shipment and maintained throughout in-transit cold treatment for the duration of the export consignment.

2) The fruit has been packed in pest proof containers

Option 5 (EXDOC Endorsement 8247)

1) The core temperature of the fruit has been held continuously at 1 degree Celsius, plus or minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, or below for not less than 16 days commencing prior to shipment and maintained throughout in-transit cold treatment for the duration of the export consignment.
