Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 8399:

  • Broad nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus), Texas root rot (Phymatotrichopsis omnivora), and Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica) are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Groundnut bruchid (Caryedon serratus), Trogoderma spp, Flour mites (Acarus siro), Lesser grain borer (Rhyzopertha dominica), Granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius), Rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae), Angoumois grain moth (Sitotroga cerealella), Red flour beetle (Tribolium castaneum) and Confused flour beetle (Tribolium confusum).
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens), Dodder (Cuscuta spp), Southern leaf blight of corn (Bipolaris maydis) and Bacterial canker of tomato (Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. michiganensis).

Endorsement 8398:

Note:
Bipolaris maydis is a synonym of Cochliobolus heterostrophus.
Pre-shipment treatment is not mandatory, however consignments are to be free from live pests and if any live pest is detected at inspection, consignments are to be treated in an appropriate manner.

If the consignment is treated prior to export:

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 8399)
1) Broad nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus), Texas root rot (Phymatotrichopsis omnivora), and Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Groundnut bruchid (Caryedon serratus), Trogoderma spp, Flour mites (Acarus siro), Lesser grain borer (Rhyzopertha dominica), Granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius), Rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae), Angoumois grain moth (Sitotroga cerealella), Red flour beetle (Tribolium castaneum) and Confused flour beetle (Tribolium confusum),
3) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens) and Dodder (Cuscuta spp), Southern leaf blight of corn (Bipolaris maydis) and Bacterial canker of tomato (Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. michiganensis).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 8398)
1) Broad nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus), Texas root rot (Phymatotrichopsis omnivora), and Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica) are not known to occur in Australia,

The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens) and Dodder (Cuscuta spp)Southern leaf blight of corn (Bipolaris maydis) and Bacterial canker of tomato (Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. michiganensis).
