Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements:

  • Where laboratory testing is required, the statement "OFFICIAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER (NUMBER) / DATE (DATE)" must be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP). There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@agriculture.gov.au).
  • Where crop inspection is required, a crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from the listed pests.
Non-GMO certification
  • If certification is required (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification), the exporter is responsible for ensuring that the consignment is accompanied by a Non-GMO Certificate attesting that the seed has not been genetically modified.
  • If requested, a Declaration and Certificate as to Condition (EX188) may be issued for the consignment if specifically supported from information supplied by Office of Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and where it is a government requirement of the importing country for Non-GMO certification (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification).
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 4636)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Bacterial wilt of alfalfa  (Clavibacter michigianensis subsp. insidiosus) and Stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 4637)
1) The consignment is free from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Bacterial wilt of alfalfa  (Clavibacter michigianensis subsp. insidiosus) and Stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci), according to the result of the official laboratory analysis indicated in the additional product description of this phytosanitary certificate.
