Additional declaration is only to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate when the import permit specifically states this requirement. Import permits sighted in which there is no specific pest or diseases are to be issued with nil additional declaration.
Explanation of the endorsements:
- Where laboratory testing is required, the statement "OFFICIAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER (NUMBER) / DATE (DATE)" must be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP). There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@agriculture.gov.au).
- Where crop inspection is required, a crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from the listed pests.
- Broomrape (Orobanche spp) is known not to occur in the area of production. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 579)
1) Broomrape (Orobanche spp) is known not to occur in the area of production,
2) The crop was officially inspected during the last two growing cycles and found to be free of Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) and Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 617)
1) Broomrape (Orobanche spp) is known not to occur in the area of production,
2) The consignment is free from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) and Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus), according to the result of the official laboratory analysis indicated in the additional product description of this phytosanitary certificate.
