Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material including foreign matter and debris.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages labelled with botanical names.

Supplemental information including Permittee Name, Permit Number and Label Number must also be enclosed in each shipment.

Package or shipments that are sent through mail or courier service or passenger baggage require green and yellow labels. The permit must request labels through ePermits using My Shipment/Labels feature; or by email at least 5 days in advance of the shipment departure at greenandyellowlabelrequest@usda.gov.

Exporters are to ensure export the consignment within 15 days of issuance of the phytosanitary certificate.
