Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
This ICR applies to the importation of Melia azedarach cuttings under a "Controlled import permit (CIP) to import restricted or 'Not Authorised' plant material" regulated by 7 CFR 319.6 for research purpose.
The plant materials must be selected from apparently disease-free and pest-free sources, free of federal noxious weeds and soil.
All regulated plant materials are subject to inspection at a PPQ Plant Inspection Station (PIS) at the time of entry to the U.S.
Imported plant materials may be refused entry if found infected/infested at the PIS, found coated, or covered with fungicide, insecticide or any other treatments that obscure inspection.
Such plant material may be destroyed, treated, or returned to the exporter at the permittee's expense.
An invoice or packing lists must accompany the consignment with the botanical names (genus and species) listed alphabetically, country of origin, details of the exporter and location should be clearly labelled and import permit number included on the bill of lading.
