Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, evidence of disease, weed seeds (including noxious weed seeds) and extraneous material.
Each lot should clearly display kind, variety, origin, lot designation and treatment if any.
Consignment will be inspected on arrival for noxious weed seeds and pests.
Genetically engineered plant materials may require a valid permit or notification. The exporter should confirm with APHIS prior to export if applicable.
APHIS may issue an import permit for Brassica napus seed for laboratory analysis which does not require a phytosanitary certificate to accompany the consignment. If an import permit is issued, then a copy of the import permit must be presented at the time of making an appointment for an inspection with an Authorised Officer.
If an import permit is not issued, then a phytosanitary certificate is required to accompany the consignment as per APHIS requirements for propagative material.
