Consignments are to be free from pests, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 559: 
  • A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence of freedom from plant parasitic nematodes.
  • the statement "OFFICIAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER (NUMBER) / DATE (DATE)" can be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP). There is to be no deviation from this text format.To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@agriculture.gov.au).

Consignments must undergo one of the following treatments:
  • Dry heat treatment at 121 degrees Celsius for 2 hours and the soil is spread in layers not more than 13mm;

OR

  • Steam treatment at 121 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes and the soil is spread in layers not more than 50mm;

OR

  • Treatment with methyl bromide at 80gm per cubic meter for 48 hours and the soil is spread in layers not more than 30cm.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of plant parasitic nematodes.
