Larger grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) and Witchweed (Striga angustifolia) are not known to occur in Australia. Freedom from these pests can be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate without sighting an evidence.
Southern leaf blight of corn (Cochliobolus heterostrophus), Fusarium head blight (Gibberella zeae) and Charcoal rot (Macrophomina phaseolina) are not found on the seed export pathway and certification may be endorsed without sighting evidence.
A visual inspection of a representative sample may be used for endorsing freedom from Doublegee (Emex australis), Deenanath grass (Pennisetum pedicellatum) and Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense).
