Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.
 Packaging materials must not contain banana leaves, maize, rice, sorghum, palm, wheat straw, soil or leaf mould.

Consignments must be accompanied by both a copy of the Import Permit and Phytosanitary Certificate.

Consignments are to be grown and produced in Australia.

If any plant material is used as packaging material the packing material must be treated by:


Heat Treatment: 


  • Heating to 83⁰C for 10 minutes.

OR


Chemical Treatment:


  • Treated with an appropriate chemical according to the label requirements.


Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
