Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 7581:
  • This endorsement may only be used if the import permit specifies that lab testing can occur
  • Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pests.
  • Freedom from Silverleaf nightshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium) may endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate using visual inspection by the authorised officer
  • Laboratory test analysis report is to be cited for certifying freedom from nematodes (Trichodorus spp) and Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv.pisi). Alternatively, the exporter may present area freedom certificate or crop inspection report for endorsing freedom from Stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) and Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).

Endorsement 7613:

  • Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A Crop Inspection Certificate is required to be cited for certifying freedom from Silverleaf nightshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium), nematodes (Trichodorus spp) and Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi). 

Endorsement 7614:

  • Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A pest free place of production certificate issued by the state or territory government is required to be cited for certifying freedom from Silverleaf nightshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium), nematodes (Trichodorus spp) and Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi). 

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate seed dressing at recommended manufacturer’s requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7581)

1) Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia,

2) Using official procedures the consignment is found free from Silverleaf nightshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium) , nematodes (Trichodorus spp) and  Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7613)

1) Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia,

2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Silverleaf nightshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium), nematodes (Trichodorus spp) and Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7614)

1) Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia,

2) the seed was sourced from a 'pest free place of production' free from Silverleaf nightshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium), nematodes (Trichodorus spp) and Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).
