Not on barley seed export pathway - Arabis Mosaic Virus is not seed transmitted in Barley (Lister RM, Murrant AF (1967) Seed-transmission of nematode-borne virus. Annals of Applied biology 59: 49-62). No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this Arabis Mosaic Virus.
Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer - is to be used to endorse freedom from
Grain weevil (Sitophilus granarius) and Redlegged earth mite (Halotydeus destructor).
Laboratory test analysis - is to be used as evidence to endorse freedom from Head mould of grasses, rice and sorghum (Cochliobolus lunatus), Head blight of maize (Gibberella zeae), Leaf blotch (Pyrenophora chaetomioides), Leaf stripe (Pyrenophora graminea), Net blotch (Pyrenophora teres), Leaf blotch (Rhynchosporium secalis), Covered smut of barley (Ustilago hordei) and Barley stripe mosiac virus.
Note:
- Port Zone testing report is acceptable for Barley Stripe Mosaic virus.
- Additional declaration is only to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate when the import permit specifically states this requirement. Import permits sighted in which there is no specific pest or diseases are to be issued with nil additional declaration.
If stated on the import permit, consignments are to be fumigated with an appropriate fumigant at recommended manufacturers requirements (registered label rates).
Treatmentis only to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate when the import permitspecifically states this requirement. When an import permit is presented withno treatment requirement, the consignment does not require treatment and aphytosanitary certificate will be issued without a treatment endorsement.
