Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

  
Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.
  
Exporter is to ensure any packing used is not hay, straw, chaff, forest litter, or any decomposing material. 

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Cold disinfestation treatment prior to export is required for consignments that cannot be certified under endorsement 3160.

Core temperature is to be held continuously at: 

  • 1 degree Celsius (plus / minus 0.5 degrees Celsius) for not less than 16 days.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection. 
Details of treatment are to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section in the example format of:

Description: AT OR BELOW X DEGREES CELSIUS FOR XX DAYS

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3160)
1) Carrot rust fly (Psila rosae) and Papaya fruit fly (Bactrocera papayae) are known not to occur in Australia,
2) No fruit fly that attacks the particular fruit has been trapped within 80 kms of the growing area within the previous 12 months.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 8411)
1) The core temperature of the fruit in this consignment was continuously held at 1 degree Celsius plus or minus 0.5 degrees Celsius for not less than 16 days prior to export.
