Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


This ICR only applies to the following species.
  • Citrus japonica
  • Citrus latifolia
  • Citrus meyeri
  • Citrus paradisi
  • Citrus reticulata
  • Citrus sinensis
  • Citrus tangerina
  • Citrus limon
  • Citrus hystrix
  • Citrus reticulata x Citrus paradisi
  • Citrus margarita
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignment must be labelled with its correct botanical name (genus and species).

Explanation of Endorsement
  • For bare rooted plants endorsement 7771 and 7772 is applicable. 
  • For plants in Coconut coir peat media endorsement 6783 and 6784 is applicable. 
Treatment options:
Option 1: Plants are to be treated prior to export with Methyl bromide fumigation for 2 hours at the following concentrations:
  • 56 grm/m3 at 5 to 10 degrees Celsius; OR
  • 48 grm/m3 at 11 to 15 degrees Celsius; OR
  • 40 grm/m3 at 16 to 20 degrees Celsius; OR
  • 32 grm/m3 at 21 to 25 degrees Celsius; OR
  • 24 grm/m3 at 26 to 30 degrees Celsius; OR
  • 16 grm/m3 at 31 degrees Celsius and above.
Option 2: Plants must be treated prior to export with a 30 second dip in a solution consisting of:
  • Carbaryl – 0.1% active ingredient or equivalent
  • Maldison – 0.1% active ingredient, and 
  • White oil – 1.0% active ingredient
Coconut coir peat products treatment options:
No more than 21 days prior to export, the coco coir peat products must be treated by one of the following approved treatments:
  • Ethylene oxide, under an intital minimum vacuum of 50 kPa at 1500 grm/m3 for 4 hours at 50 degrees Celsius; or
  • Ethylene oxide, under an initial minimum vacuum of 50 kPa at 1550 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius; or
  • Heat treatment by raising the core temperature of the peat to a minimum of 85 degrees Celsius for at least 15 hours at approximately 40% relative humidity; or
  • Autoclaving at 120 degrees Celsius core temperature for 30 minutes at 100 kPa.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Consignment has been inspected and found to be free from insects, pests and diseases.
2) Plants in this consignment have been fumigated prior to export.
3) Coconut coir peat media in this consignment has been treated no more than 21 days prior to export by one of the approved treatment options.
4) Plants in this consignment were grown in Australia.
 
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6784)
1) Consignment has been inspected and found to be free from insects, pests and diseases.
2) Plants in this consignment have undergone through a dipping treatment prior to export.
3) Coconut coir peat media in this consignment has been treated no more than 21 days prior to export by one of the approved treatment options.
4) Plants in this consignment were grown in Australia.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7771)
1) Consignment has been inspected and found to be free from insects, pests and diseases.
2) Plants in this consignment have been fumigated prior to export. 
3) Plants in this consignment were grown in Australia.

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 7772)
1) Consignment has been inspected and found to be free from insects, pests and diseases.
2) Plants in this consignment have undergone through a dipping treatment prior to export.
3) Plants in this consignment were grown in Australia.
