Consignment must be free of pests, seeds of other plants, soil, evidence of disease and extraneous material including leaf or stem material, faeces and animal remains. Visual inspection of phytosanitary sample is sufficient to endorse freedom.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Grass must be sourced from stem and dried.

Consignments must be packed in secure containers or packages.
Consignments are to be treated with an approved insecticide or fumigant at recommended manufacturer's requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
