Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

The components of the salad mix must be listed as botanical names (genus and species) on the phytosanitary certificate.

Only the stem and leaf portions of vegetables may be used in salad mix. Root vegetables and fruits are not permitted.

The following vegetables are permitted entry into Taiwan as components of a salad mix:

  • Spinach (Spinacia oleracea)

  • Lettuce (Lactuca sativa)

  • Rocket (Eruca sativa)

  • Beet or chard leaves (Beta vulgaris)

  • Silverbeet (Beta vulgaris var. cicla)

  • Pak choi, Tatsoi, cabbage (Brassica rapa, Brassica campestris, Brassica narinosa)

  • Kale, cabbages (Brassica oleracea)

  • Mizuna, leaf mustard (Brassica juncea)

  • Chicory, Endive, Radicchio (Cichorium spp)

  • Chervil (Anthriscus cerefolium)

Note:

  • Prickly lettuce (Lactuca serriola) is prohibited import into Taiwan.


All plants and plant products transhipped through countries or districts where designated insects, mites, fungi, bacteria, viruses or nematodes occur shall be properly packed and secured in Australia in such a way that they shall not be in contact with any other consignment, and the phytosanitary status must be maintained intact by using one of the packing methods listed below:

  • Packed by air-tight wrapping.

  • Packed with closed packing cartons. If the packing carton has ventilation holes, the holes shall be covered with insect proof screen of no more than 1.6 mm fine mesh.

  • Packed on pallets or trays. The pallets or trays shall be entirely wrapped with insect proof screen of no more than 1.6 mm fine mesh or with other insect and mite proof packing materials.

  • Transported in a closed container sealed with a "coded seal" and with both container number and seal number recorded on the phytosanitary certificate. 

Plants and plant products exported by sea transport shall be transported in containers which are sealed and arrive in Taiwan with seals intact.

It is the exporters' responsibility for ensuring the seal is applied to containers.

The following are classed as fruits (as they develop from a flower). Please refer to the relevant fruit case(s) for these commodities:

  • Avocado
  • Capsicum
  • Chillies
  • Cucumber
  • Eggplant
  • Melons
  • Olives
  • Pumpkin
  • Squash
  • Tomato
  • Zucchini


All consignments using solid wood packing material must comply with ISPM-15.

1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana), Stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci), White fringed beetle (Naupactus leucoloma) and Western flower thrips (Franklinella occidentalis).
