Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Phytosanitary certificate must state botanical name, production origin and quantity exported.

All plants and plant products transhipped through countries or districts where designated insects, mites, fungi, bacteria, viruses or nematodes occur shall be properly packed and secure d in Australia in such a way that they shall not be in contact with any other consignment.

Plants and plant products exported by sea transport shall be transported in containers which are sealed and arrive in Taiwan with seals intact. 

 It is the exporters' responsibility for ensuring the seal is applied to containers.

All consignments using solid wood packing material must comply with ISPM-15.

Export is only allowed for beet root sourced from Victoria and Tasmania.

Export is prohibited for beetroot sourced from NT, NSW, QLD, SA, and WA where burrowing nematode is known to occur.

Applies to consignment of beet root:

  • with stem and/or leaf attached

Endorsement 5756:

Applies to consignment of beet root:

  • without stem and/or leaf attached

1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci), White fringed beetle (Naupactus leucoloma) and Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis),

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5756)
1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) and White fringed beetle (Naupactus leucoloma).
