Explanation of the endorsements
Consignments exported under import permits which indicate requirements for freedom from specific pests must use an appropriate Endorsement according to the import permit requirements. Consignments exported under import permits which do not indicate requirements for freedom from specific pests must meet the tolerances listed in Table 1 and Table 2.
The department would endorse freedom from insects with nil tolerance (Table 1) in export consignments on exporters providing evidence attesting to the endorsement.
Exporters are to ensure that the consignment meets the tolerances from pests listed on Table 2. The freedom from pest with tolerance will not be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.

Endorsement 5162:

Endorsement 7654:
- Fusarium gramineum is a synonym of Gibberella stalk rot (Gibberella zeae). This pathogen is not present in Australia and no evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Pythium australiensis as this species is not recorded in scientific literature.
- Heminthosporium carbonum is the anamorph of Cochliobolus carbonum. Laboratory testing, crop inspection or area freedom for one will cover both.
- Rust (Uromyces kenyensis) and Smut (Tolyposporium chloridis) are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- A laboratory analysis certificate, area freedom certificate or crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Leaf blight (Pyricularia pennisetigena), Take-all (Gaeumannomyces spp.), Fusarium head blight (Fusarium equiseti), Northern corn leaf spot (Cochliobolus carbonum), Phomopsis blight (Phomopsis spp.), Leaf rust (Puccinia chloridis), Southern leaf blight of corn (Cochliobolus heterostrophus), Leaf blight (Cochliobolus chrolidis), Ergot (Claviceps spp.), Anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp.), Meadow nematode (Pratylenchus brachyurus), Wheat nematode (Anguina tritici), Nematodes (Ditylenchus spp.), Nematodes (Aphelenchoides spp.) and Witchweed (Striga spp.).
Exporters are to ensure that the consignment does not contain any genetically modified product, regardless of the endorsement used.
Consignments must be accompanied with Invoice and Certificate of Origin, regardless of the endorsement used.
