Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Seed potatoes must be practically free of soil. The departments soil tolerance applies in this regards (Contaminants include more than 25g of soil per sample taken for 2 per cent inspections and 25g of soil in the combined samples for the inspection lot for 600 unit inspections.)
 
It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Only seed potato produced by seed potato growers who are registered under a Seed Potato Certification scheme are permitted to be exported to Sri Lanka.

The seed potato should be accompanied by official seed certification tags on which the seed generation "G-5" is indicated.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Size of tubers should be between 28mm and 55mm in diameter in natural proportions.

The product will be inspected at the port of entry and may be subject to treatment.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1800)

1) Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata), Potato tuber eel worm (Ditylenchus destructor), Bacterial ring rot of potato (Clavibacter michiganesis subsp sepedonicus), Potato wart (Synchytrium endobioticum), Golden cyst nematode (Globodera pallida) and Andean potato weevil (Premnotrypes spp.) are not known to occur in Australia.
2) Bacterial wilt (Ralstonia solanacearum), Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd), Potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) and Potato virus Y C-strain (PVY C-strain) are known not to occur in the area of production.
3) Seed potatoes were inspected and found free from Gangrene dry rot (Phoma exigua var. foveata), Verticillium wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum), Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahlia) and Powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea).
4) Seed potatoes affected by Potato virus X (PVX) do not exceed 2%.
5) Seed potatoes affected by Potato leaf roll virus (PLRV), Potato virus M (PVM), Potato virus S (PVS) and Potato virus Y (PVY, except PVY C-strain), do not exceed 1% when incidence of the four viruses are considered together.
6) Seed potatoes affected by Pink rot (Phytophthora erythroseptica), Black scurf (Rhizoctonia solani), Rubbery rot (Geotrichum candidum) and Blackleg (Erwinia carotovora) do not exceed 0.03%, applied during field inspections.
7) Seed tubers affected by Common scab (Streptomyces scabies) do not exceed Dutch scale 1.5 or equivalent (70% tolerance).
8) Seed tubers affected by Netted scab (Streptomyces reticuliscabies) do not exceed a tolerance of 1/12th of surface area (5% in quantity).
9) Seed tubers affected with dry rot and wet rot not caused by Synchytrium endobioticum, Clavibacter michiganensis and Ralstonia solanacearum are not more than 1% of the weight.
10) Seed tubers with external defects are not more than 1% of the weight.
11) Seed lots are practically free of soil and any other foreign materials.
