Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure the consignment is exported within 14 days of inspection and the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 7266: 
  • Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • An area of production freedom certificate or a crop inspection certificate must be provided as evidence to endorse freedom from Potato spindle tuber viroid.
  • Avocado seed must be sourced from an area free from Avocado sun blotch viroid (ASBVD), as verified by an official detection survey.
  • A combination of crop inspection, laboratory testing and area of production freedom certificates may be sighted to endorse freedom from Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae).
 Endorsement 7267:
  • Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence to endorse freedom from Potato spindle tuber viroid.
  • Avocado seed must be sourced from an area free from Avocado sun blotch viroid (ASBVD), as verified by an official detection survey.
  • A combination of crop inspection, laboratory testing and area of production freedom certificates may be sighted to endorse freedom from Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae).
Endorsement 7268:
  • Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A crop inspection certificate must be provided as evidence to endorse freedom from Potato spindle tuber viroid.
  • Avocado seed must be sourced from an area free from Avocado sun blotch viroid (ASBVD), as verified by an official detection survey.
  • A combination of crop inspection, laboratory testing and area of production freedom certificates may be sighted to endorse freedom from Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae).

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturer’s requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7266)
1) Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia,

2) Potato spindle tuber viroid is not known to occur in the area of production,

3)The avocado seed in this consignment have been sourced from an approved orchard which has been inspected and found free from symptoms of Avocado sunblotch viroid,

4) The seeds for sowing in this consignment have been inspected and/or tested in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae).


Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7267)
1) Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia,

2) A representative sample was officially tested using appropriate methods and found free from Potato spindle tuber viroid,

3)The avocado seed in this consignment have been sourced from an approved orchard which has been inspected and found free from symptoms of Avocado sunblotch viroid,

4) The seeds for sowing in this consignment have been inspected and/or tested in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae).


Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7268)

1) Xylella (Xylella fastidiosa) is not known to occur in Australia,

2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Potato spindle tuber viroid,

3)The avocado seed in this consignment have been sourced from an approved orchard which has been inspected and found free from symptoms of Avocado sunblotch viroid,

4) The seeds for sowing in this consignment have been inspected and/or tested in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae).
