A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments are to be accompanied by an International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) Orange Certificate. The test report should state the below (check import permit for details):
- Lot number and quantity
- Genetic and physical purity of seeds with specific details of contaminants, if any,
- the seed water content does not exceed the maximum and,
- the seeds have been sampled by the official seed certification agency and tested by a seed testing laboratory approved by the govenment of the exporting country
- Other seed count (including crop and weed seeds)
- The sample must be taken by accredited person using ISTA methodology
Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate fungicide and insecticide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.
