Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Endorsement #4903 is not applicable when seed is sourced from Queensland

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.


Consignments are not to be derived from genetically modified organisms.

Non-GMO requirements:

India requires the goods are not genetically modified. The exporter is responsible for ensuring the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46). The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) has confirmed there are no approvals for commercial production of genetically modified cultivars of this product in Australia.

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has advised the department that there has been no intentional release into the Australian environment of genetically modified product(s) listed on this certificate.


If stated in an import permit, consignment must be accompanied with a certificate from an accredited laboratory showing freedom from Salmonella and Escherichia coli.


Explanation of endorsement: 

Endorsement 8127
  • Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda).

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement  4903)
1) Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis), Late wilt (Cephalosporium maydis), Maize dwarf mosaic virus, Stewart's diesease (Erwinia stewartii and Pantoea stewartii), Maize ergot (Claviceps gigantea), Maize streak virus, Corn stunt virus, Leaf freckles (Coryenebacterium nebraskense), Philippine downy mildew (Peronsclerospora philippinesis), False codling moth (Cryptophlebia leucotreta) and Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) Witch weed (Striga spp) and Cephalosporium acremonium are not to occur on the area of production.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement  4904)
1) Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis), Late wilt (Cephalosporium maydis), Maize dwarf mosaic virus, Stewart's diesease (Erwinia stewartii and Pantoea stewartii), Maize ergot (Claviceps gigantea), Maize streak virus, Corn stunt virus, Leaf freckles (Coryenebacterium nebraskense), Philippine downy mildew (Peronsclerospora philippinesis), False codling moth (Cryptophlebia leucotreta) and Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Witch weed (Striga spp) and Cephalosporium acremonium.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement  4905)
1) Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis), Late wilt (Cephalosporium maydis), Maize dwarf mosaic virus, Stewart's diesease (Erwinia stewartii and Pantoea stewartii), Maize ergot (Claviceps gigantea), Maize streak virus, Corn stunt virus, Leaf freckles (Coryenebacterium nebraskense), Philippine downy mildew (Peronsclerospora philippinesis), False codling moth (Cryptophlebia leucotreta) and Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Bacterial Witchweed (Striga spp) and Cephalosporium acremonium.


Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 8127)
1) The consignment was found free through official testing and/or inspection procedure of Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda).
