It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

An evergreen plant is a plant having leaves all year round. Leaf persistence inevergreen plants may vary from a few month, with new leaves constantly beinggrown as old ones are shed, to several decades.

The EU Directive 2000-29 requirements for the certification of Tissue culturein respect to having been inspected at appropriate times are:

An official examination carried out in accordance with the followingprovisions:
a) They shall extend to the relevant plants or plant products grown, producedor used by the producer or otherwise present on his/her premises as well as tothe growing medium used there;
b) They shall be made on the premises, preferably at the place of production;
c) They shall be made regularly at appropriate times at least once a year, andat least by visual observation, without prejudice to the special requirementslisted in Annex IV.

Appropriate times shall be that when the pest / disease is most prevalent /active.
Official examination may be undertaken by a person has suitable qualificationsto perform the inspection and make an official declaration. eg: State Departmentof Agriculture employee; Department of Primary Industry employee; Crop monitor;Company employed entomologist.

Evidence of propagation in sterile facilities and inspection at appropriatetimes must be presented to the Department of Agriculture Authorised Officer.

Endorsement 1818 is applicableto:

Point 36.1(d)  originate from plant material (explant) which is free from Thrips palmi Karny; are grown in vitro in a sterile medium under sterile conditions that preclude the possibility of infestation with Thrips palmi Karny; and are shipped in transparent containers under sterile conditions.

Point 46(b)(d) - the plants originate from plant material (explant) which is free from Bemisia tabaci Genn. (non-European populations) and which did not show any symptoms of the relevant harmful organisms; are grown in vitro in a sterile medium under sterile conditions that preclude the possibility of infestation with Bemisia tabaci Genn. (non-European populations); and are shipped in transparent containers under sterile conditions.
