A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

For seed for laboratory analysis, where seed is not released into the environment.
  • Consignments requires inspection, should be free from live insects and pathogens.
  • Requires phytosanitary certification, with Nil Additional Declaration.

For seed for trial/research purposes:
  • Consignments will be certified as per endorsement 1130 or 1131.
  • Seed must be treated with an appropriate fumigant and fungicide, refer to treatment details below.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1614)
1) Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus), Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium), Late wilt (Cephalosporium maydis), Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii), Brown stripe downy mildew (Sclerophthora rayssiae var zeae), Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis), Sugarcane downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sacchari), Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis) and Western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The consignment has been treated with an appropriate wide spectrum fungicide effective against Southern leaf blight of corn (Drechslera maydis),
3) The consignment has been treated with an appropriate fumigant for Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1130)
1) Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus), Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium), Late wilt (Cephalosporium maydis), Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii), Brown stripe downy mildew (Sclerophthora rayssiae var zeae), Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis), Sugarcane downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sacchari), Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis) and Western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) Southern leaf blight of corn (Drechslera maydis) is known not to occur in the area of production,
3) The consignment has been treated with an appropriate fumigant for Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 1131)
1) Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus), Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium), Late wilt (Cephalosporium maydis), Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii), Brown stripe downy mildew (Sclerophthora rayssiae var zeae), Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis), Sugarcane downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sacchari), Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis) and Western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The parent plants were inspected during the growing season and found free from Southern leaf blight of corn (Drechslera maydis),
3) The consignment has been treated with an appropriate fumigant for Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis).
