Articles with bark

Consignment must be fumigated with methyl bromide not more than 14 days prior to export at:

• 48 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours;

OR

• 56 grm/m3 at between 16 – 20 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;

OR

• 64 grm/m3 at between 11 – 15 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.

Alternatively the consignment can be heat treated (Kiln-dried or chemical pressure impregnation) through the use of steam, hot water or dry heat, at a core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for at least 30 minutes.

In cases were treatment cannot occur prior to export, the exporter is responsible for arranging treatment on arrival at their own expense.

Articles without bark

The wooden article was manufactured from kiln dried wood. In this case endorsement 5180 must be used.



In the case of the article being made from kiln dried wood, a manufacturer's declaration or certificate must be presented as evidence to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
