MICoR case applies to all processed timber without bark.
Consignment must be fumigated with methyl bromide not more than 14 days prior to export at;
OR
In the case of the article being made from kiln dried wood, a manufacturer's declaration or certificate must be presented as evidence to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
- 48 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours;
OR
- 56 grm/m3 at 16 – 20 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;
OR
- 64 grm/m3 at 11 – 15 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.
Note:
The Department's minor use permit for methyl bromide does not allow for methyl bromide treatment periods of less than 24 hours.
OR
- Ethanedinitrile (EDN) at APVMA label rates.
OR
- The consignment can be heat treated (Kiln-dried or chemical pressure impregnation) through the use of steam, hot water or dry heat, at a core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for at least 30 minutes;
OR
- The wooden article was manufactured from kiln dried wood. In this case, Additional Declaration 5180 must be used.

Import permit dated 13 September 2018 and advice from the South African NPPO that EDN is an approved fumigant for timber products.
