Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 561:

Applies for coffee beans being re-exported from Australia. Endorsement can be endorsed based on visual inspection by Authorised Officer if no treatment is undertaken.
For re-exported coffee beans the exporter may choose to undertake treatment instead of visual inspection to endorse freedom from Coffee berry borer (Hypothenemis hampei).

If treatment is chosen consignment must be fumigated with an appropriate fumigant at recommended manufacturer's requirements no more than 14 days prior to export.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

1) Coffee berry borer (Hypothenemis hampei) is not known to occur in Australia.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5619)
