A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


The exporters must meet Australian requirements for the export of Cannabis sativa seed by being issued an export licence and permit by the Narcotics Control Section (ncs@health.gov.au). These documents must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 7945:

  • European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Mediterranean flour moth (Ephestia kuehniella), Tropical fire ant (Solenopsis geminata) and Tribolium Flour beetle (Tribolium confusum)
  • A laboratory testing certificate is required to endorse freedom from Arabis mosaic virus and Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci), leaf and stem rot of hemp (Pseudomonas syringae pv. cannabina), hemp leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cannabis), leaf spot of grasses (Curvularia cymbopogonis), leptosphaeria blight (Leptosphaeria woroninii), Bud rot (Fusarium avenaceum) and Ramularia leaf spot of barley (Ramularia collo-cygni).,

A treatment certificate must be provided to the authorised officer at the time of inspection.
When using EXDOC Endorsement (7946), the consignments are to be treated with appropriate fungicide effective against Anthracnose leaf spot of grasses (Curvularia cymbopogonis), leptosphaeria blight (Leptosphaeria woroninii), Bud rot (Fusarium avenaceum) and Ramularia leaf spot of barley (Ramularia collo-cygni).

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

3) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Arabis mosaic virus and Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci), leaf and stem rot of hemp (Pseudomonas syringae pv. cannabina), hemp leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cannabis), leaf spot of grasses (Curvularia cymbopogonis), leptosphaeria blight (Leptosphaeria woroninii), Bud rot (Fusarium avenaceum) and Ramularia leaf spot of barley (Ramularia collo-cygni).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7946)
