Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
The original and official translation of the Import permit must be presented to the NPPO at the port of arrival in the Solomon Islands for final clearance of the consignment. 

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Leafy vegetables must be free of roots. 

Non-leafy vegetables must be free of foliage.

The product will be inspected at the port of entry and may be subject to treatment.

Consignments transhipped via another country

Consignments transhipped to the Solomon Islands from Australia via another country must be accompanied by a Re-export Certificate issued by the National Plant Protection Authority at the port of re-export. 

The Re-export Certificate must clearly state the exporter, consignee, description of the product, number of packages, distinguishing marks, place of origin, means of conveyance and point of entry into country. 

The Re-export Certificate must certify the consignment has been transported and handled in such a manner as to prevent the possibility of pest infestation and product substitution during transport.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 3354:

Only applies to product that has been sourced from an area free of Tobacco whitefly (Bemisia tabaci Biotype B) as verified by an official survey.

Endorsement 3355:

Applies to product subject to fumigation with methyl bromide.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Treatments are to be applied as per the conditions presented on the import permit.

Fumigation with Methyl bromide

Consignments certified under endorsement 3355 are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide for 2 hours (at atmospheric pressure) by one of the following treatments, according to the treatment details on the Import permit:

  • 10-15 degrees Celsius at 48 grm/m3;
OR
  • 16-20 degrees Celsius at 40 grm/m3;
OR
  • 21-25 degrees Celsius at 32 grm/m3;
OR
  • 26-32 degrees Celsius at 24 grm/m3.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3354)
1) The product has been derived from an area free of Bemisia tabaci Biotype B as verified by an official survey.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 3355)
1) The product has been fumigated with methyl bromide.
