Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.



A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.



Consignments are to be accompanied by a Seed Analysis Certificate listing the botanical name and number of contaminant seeds found in a sample tested according to the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) standards.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.
The seed is required to be treated with fungicide at the following schedules
  • Carboxin at 8g a.i per 10kg seed and thiram at 10g a.i per 10kg seed
Or
  • Carboxin at 8g a.i per 10kg seed and captan at 7g a.i per 10kg seed
Or
  • Imazalil at 0.8g a.i per 10kg seed and triadimenol at 2.2g a.i per 10kg seed
Or
  • Imazalil at 0.8g a.i per 10kg seed and fitriafol at 0.8g a.i per 10kg seed
Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
