Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Additional declarations areonly to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate if specified on the importpermit.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Micor case applies to consignments greater than 250grms.

Seed must be sourced from Department of Agriculture Solomon Islands approved sources - refer to Import Permit for approved list of seed suppliers.

Seed is to be commercially packed in clean, new packages.
Packages / packets are to be clearly identified by the botanical name. Other forms of identification permitted as stated on the import permit.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 1363:

  • A laboratory analysis certificate stating that a representative sample has been tested and found free of Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid through PCR test is required to endorse freedom from this pest. 
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse the statement that the seeds in the consignment have been prepared to industry standards with thorough cleaning to remove all traces of flesh from the seeds.

Endorsement 1180:

  • An area freedom certificate for Potato Spindle Tuber Viroid is required as evidence to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse the statement that the seeds in the consignment have been prepared to industry standards with thorough cleaning to remove all traces of flesh from the seeds.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1363)
1) A representative sample was officially tested using appropriate methods and found free from Potato spindle tuber viroid,
2) The seeds in this consignment have been prepared to industry standards with thorough cleaning to remove all traces of flesh from the seeds.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1180)
1) Potato spindle tuber viroid is known not to occur in the area of production,
2) The seeds in this consignment have been prepared to industry standards with thorough cleaning to remove all traces of flesh from the seeds.
