Consignments are to be free from pests, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

 
Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 559: 
  • A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence of freedom from plant parasitic nematodes.
Endorsement 7549: 
  • A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence of freedom from plant parasitic organisms.
Note: Consignments must either be found free from plant parasitic organisms by laboratory analysis or be treated appropriately using a treatment from section below.
Consignments must undergo one of the following treatments:
  • Dry heat treatment at 121 degrees Celsius for 2 hours and the soil is spread in layers not more than 13mm;

OR

  • Steam treatment at 121 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes and the soil is spread in layers not more than 50mm;

OR

  • Treatment with Methyl Bromide at 80gm per cubic meter for 48 hours and the soil is spread in layers not more than 30cm.

If soil cannot be spread in layers as stated in the 3 treatment options, soil must be put in gas permeable bag and fumigated with Methyl Bromide per above requirement. Singapore does not prescribe temperature requirement for Methyl Bromide fumigation.

Note: Methyl Bromide fumigation cannot take place below 10 degrees Celsius as per Australian label rate.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 559)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of plant parasitic nematodes.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7549)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of plant parasitic organisms.
