Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Plants may be exported as either bare rooted or with associated growing media.

Growing media includes: Soil (Top Soil or Mixed Soil); Peat Moss; Cocoa Moss; Sphagnum Moss and Bark

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

All consignments will be subject to Post entry inspection, at premises pre-approved by AVA Singapore.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 3171:

Applies to plants exported in media.
Treatment options applicable to any growing media attached to or associated with the plants:

  • 3% carbofuran granules - direct application at a rate of 30 grm/m3;

OR

  • Treated with Fenamiphos at recommended manufacturers requirements;

OR

  • Methyl bromide fumigation at a rate of 130 grm/m3 for 48 hours prior to planting;

OR

  • Steam sterilization at 121 degrees celsius for 30 minutes prior to planting.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
