Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


An import permit is not required to be sighted at either inspection or issuance of export certification BUT the original of the Import permit must be presented to Agri-food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) at the port of arrival in Singapore for final clearance of the consignment. 

All consignments will be subject to post entry inspection.
The following treatments are applicable for growing media only:

Option 1

  • 3% carbofuran granules (direct application 30gm per square metre).

Option 2

  • Methyl bromide fumigation at 130gm per cubic meter for 48 hours.

Option 3

  • Steam sterilization at 121 C for 30 minutes prior to planting.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
