The Seychelles government have provided official notification that inspection alone of a consignment is sufficient for detecting fruit fly in all fruits (including in fruit fly host commodities). Fruit may be exported to Seychelles under this endoresment with no requirement for treatment.

Applies to consignments that have been subject to in-transit cold treatment.
In-transit cold treatment
Seychelles NPPO has approved in-transit cold treatment as an appropriate treatment at the rate of:
- 3 degrees Celsius for 16 days.
Before loading can take place fruit must be pre-cooled to:
- -0.5 degrees Celsius for 72 hours
Temperature probes are required during pre-cooling and must be placed in suitable locations to ensure accurate and consistent temperature readings.
In-transit cold treatment must be supervised by an authorised officer approved by the department.
The treatment must be conducted over consecutive days. The treatment can be undertaken from the time of loading to arrival at the port of entry. The treatment commences once the required temperature has been established.
Calibration is not required but exporters must ensure that the temperature measurement equipment can accurately record the treatment temperature while in transit.

1) Fruit flies of the genera Anastrepha spp are known not to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of fruit flies of the genera Ceratitis spp, Dacus spp, Bactrocera spp and Carpomysa spp and San Jose scale (Quadraspidiotus perniciosus).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2606)
1) Fruit flies of the genera Anastrepha spp are known not to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of fruit flies of the genera Ceratitis spp, Dacus spp, Bactrocera spp and Carpomysa spp and San Jose scale (Quadraspidiotus perniciosus).
3) The product has been treated with a physical disinfestation treatment acceptable to the Seychelles NPPO.
