Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 6415:

  • A crop inspection report stating the crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) were observed at the place of production since the beginning of the last complete cycle of cropping must be presented as evidence for point 1).
  • A laboratory analysis report must be presented as evidence for point 2).
  • An Exporter's Declaration stating Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years must be presented as supporting evidence for point 3). 
  • A breeder's note stating that the variety is highly resistant to Alfalfa Bacterial Wilt must be presented as supporting evidence for point 4).
  • A crop inspection report attesting that the crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, and an Exporter's Declaration stating no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or the last two cycles of cropping must be presented as supporting evidence for point 5).
  • An Exporter's Declaration stating that the seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing must be presented as evidence for point 6).

Endorsement 6416:

  • An Exporter's Declaration stating Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years must be presented as supporting evidence for point 1).
  • A breeder's note stating that the variety is highly resistant to Alfalfa Bacterial Wilt must be presented as supporting evidence for point 2).

  • An Exporter's Declaration stating that the seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing must be presented as evidence for point 4).
  • When this Endorsement option is selected, seeds must be fumigated prior to export (refer to the Treatment section below for further details). A fumigation certificate must be presented as supporting evidence. Treatment details will be endorsed in the Disinfestation/Disinfection Treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate.

Endorsement 6417:

  • A crop inspection report stating the crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) were observed at the place of production since the beginning of the last complete cycle of cropping must be presented as evidence for point 1).
  • A laboratory analysis report must be presented as evidence for point 2).
  • An Exporter's Declaration stating Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years must be presented as supporting evidence for point 3).
  • An Exporter's Declaration attesting that the crop had not yet started its fourth complete cycle of vegetation from sowing when the seed was harvested and there was not more than one preceding seed harvest from the crop must be presented as supporting evidence for point 4).
  • A crop inspection report attesting that the crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, and an Exporter's Declaration stating no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or the last two cycles of cropping must be presented as supporting evidence for point 5).
  • An Exporter's Declaration stating that the seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing must be presented as evidence for point 6).

Endorsement 6418:

  • An Exporter's Declaration stating Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years must be presented as supporting evidence for point 1).
  • An Exporter's Declaration attesting that the crop had not yet started its fourth complete cycle of vegetation from sowing when the seed was harvested and there was not more than one preceding seed harvest from the crop must be presented as supporting evidence for point 2).

  • A laboratory analysis report stating that a representative sample was analysed and found to contain inert matter no more than 0.1% by weight must be presented as supporting evidence for point 4).
  • A crop inspection report attesting that the crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, and an Exporter's Declaration stating no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or the last two cycles of cropping must be presented as supporting evidence for point 5).
  • An Exporter's Declaration stating that the seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing must be presented as evidence for point 6).

Endorsement 6420:

  • An Exporter's Declaration stating Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years must be presented as supporting evidence for point 1).
  • A laboratory analysis report stating that a representative sample was analysed and found to contain inert matter no more than 0.1% by weight must be presented as supporting evidence for point 2).
  • A crop inspection report attesting that the crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, and an Exporter's Declaration stating no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or the last two cycles of cropping must be presented as supporting evidence for point 3).
  • An Exporter's Declaration stating that the seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing must be presented as evidence for point 4).
  • When this Endorsement option is selected, seeds must be fumigated prior to export (refer to the Treatment section below for further details). A fumigation certificate must be presented as supporting evidence. Treatment details will be endorsed in the Disinfestation/Disinfection Treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate. 
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.



When Endorsement 6416, 6418 or 6420 is selected, seeds must be fumigated with methyl bromide to achieve a concentration time product of 1250 g-h/m3 at the following treatment schedule:
  • 28 grm/m3 for 48 hours at 10 degree Celsius or above;

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 10 degree Celsius or above.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
 

Note:

  • Methyl bromide fumigation may affect the viability of treated seed.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 6415)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) were observed at the place of production since the beginning of the last complete cycle of cropping;
2) A representative sample was tested in the laboratory and found to be free of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci);
3) Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years; 
4) The seeds in the consignment has been sourced from a crop variety recognised to be highly resistant to Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus);
5) The crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subspp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, or on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or where appropriate the last two cycles of cropping;
6) The seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6416)
1) Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years; 

2) The seeds in the consignment has been sourced from a crop variety recognised to be highly resistant to Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus);

3) The crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, or on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or where appropriate the last two cycles of cropping;

4) The seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing.


Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 6417)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) were observed at the place of production since the beginning of the last complete cycle of cropping;

2) A representative sample was tested in the laboratory and found to be free of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci);

3) Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) has not been known to occur on the farm or in the immediate vicinity since the beginning of the past 10 years;

4) The seed was sourced from a crop that has not started its fourth complete cycle of cropping since its seed was harvested and there has not been more than one preceding seed harvest from it;

5) The crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, or on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or where appropriate the last two cycles of cropping;

6) The seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing.


Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 6418)

5) The crop was inspected during active growth and no symptoms of Alfalfa bacterial wilt (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp insidiosus) have been observed at the place of production, or on any Medicago sativa crop adjacent to it, during the last complete cycle of cropping or where appropriate the last two cycles of cropping;

5) The seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing.


Option 6 (EXDOC Endorsement 6420)

4) The seeds were sourced from a crop grown on land on which no Medicago sativa crop has been grown during the last three years prior to sowing.
