Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement only required if stated on the import permit.

Endorsement 4843:
  • Alfalfa dwarf virus is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Crown Wart (Urophlyctis alfalfae) and Dodder (Cuscuta spp).
Endorsement 6773:
  • Inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from weed seeds.
Endorsement 6793:
  • Alfalfa dwarf virus is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Crown Wart (Urophlyctis alfalfae) and Dodder (Cuscuta spp).

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate fumigant at manufacture's recommended label rate.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 4843)
1) Alfalfa dwarf virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free of Crown Wart (Urophlyctis alfalfae) and Dodder (Cuscuta spp).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6773)
1) The consignment is free from weed seeds.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 6793)
1) Alfalfa dwarf virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was tested and found free of Crown Wart (Urophlyctis alfalfae) and Dodder (Cuscuta spp).
