Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Import permits for mixed consignments may have a list of approved seeds. The Authorised Officer must verify that the products presented for inspection are listed on the import permit. The scientific name of each seed species must be listed in the Additional Product Description section. If available, the seed lot numbers and any other identifying marks on packaging must be listed next to each scientific name.

Consignments are to be disinfected or fumigated with a appropriate chemical at recommended manufacturers' requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
