Explanation of endorsements

Endorsement 3445:

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Decision No 157 dated November 30, 2016 and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Decision No. 31 of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council dated March 29, 2019 identified the following pests on export pathway for Triticum spp seeds for sowing:

  • Witchweed (Striga spp)
  • Brazil bean weevil (Zabrotessubfasciatus)
  • Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium)
  • Broad-nosed green weevil (Caulophilus latinasus)
  • Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica)
  • Yellow mucous hacteriosis of wheat (Rathayibacter tritici).


Following pests are not known to occur in Australia. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed without citing an evidence:

  • Brazil bean weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus),
  • Khapra beetle (Trоgoderma granarium),
  • Broad nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus) and
  • Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica).


Freedom from Witchweed (Striga spp.) may be endorsed on the basis of area of production freedom (Crop inspection report at active growth is acceptable).

Freedom from Gumming disease of grasses (Rathayibacter tritici) may be endorsed when seeds are sourced from a pest free area and/or a pest free place of production (Crop inspection report is acceptable).

 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
