Explanation of the endorsement


Endorsement 3445:

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Decision No 157 dated November 30, 2016 and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Decision No. 31 of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council dated March 29, 2019 identified the following pests on export pathway for Legume Crops seeds for sowing: 
  • Witchweed (Striga spp)
  • Tobacco ringspot nepovirus
  • Tomato ringspot nepovirus
  • Purple cercospora spot (Cercospora kikuchii)
  • Brazil bean weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus)
  • Bean weevils (Callosobruchus spp)
  • Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium)
  • Broad-nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus).

Freedom from Witchweed (Striga spp) may be endorsed on the basis of area of production freedom (Crop inspection report at active growth is acceptable).

The following pests are not known to occur in Australia. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed without citing evidence:
  • Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium)
  • Broad-nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus)
  • Brazil bean weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus)
  • Tomato ringspot nepovirus

Freedom from Purple cercospora spot (Cercospora kikuchii) and Tobacco ringspot nepovirus may be endorsed based on an area freedom certificate or crop inspection report.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) The seeds in this consignment are free of quarantine pests stipulated in the Common Rules No.157 approved by the Council of Eurasian Economical Commission on 30 November 2016.
