Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

ICRs apply to sorghum seed inoculated with mushroom spawn.

Labels on packages must in Arabic and English and have the following information. The information must be printed on the packages in a clear and indelible manner:
  • Product/trade name
  • Manufacturer’s name
  • Importing company’s name
  • List of the ingredients
  • Application methods and rates
  • Handling and usage precautions
  • Whether it can be mixed with other products
  • Batch number
  • Production and expiry dates

If required by the import permit, consignments must be subjected to heat or chemical treatment at recommended manufacturers requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
